Data and licensing
Available now
A sourced public-record archive, not a risk score.
The current record contains 269 publicized incidents, 44 council actions and 11,347 official statistical values. It can support reporting, research and municipal pilot work. It is not yet offered as decision-grade underwriting data.
The public API behind this site is open and documented at /v1/openapi.json: /v1/cities/ssm/summary, /v1/cities/ssm/trend, /v1/cities/ssm/blocks, /v1/blocks/:id, /v1/cities/ssm/incidents, /v1/cities/ssm/council, /v1/cities/ssm/official, /v1/cities/ssm/reconciliation. Responses contain only published, block-level records. Newsrooms and researchers can take the monthly rollups as CSV at /v1/cities/ssm/rollups.csv under an attribution licence.
For newsrooms. Every block page can be linked from a story, and the record comes as embeddable widgets: a block card, the city funnel, the council tracker and a weekly “this week on the record” column, server-rendered with no script and no cookies, framed only from allowlisted news sites, with a JSON feed of the column for a CMS. Snippets, parameters and the attribution requirement are on the newsroom page.
Licensed access (API key) adds address-to-block resolution, weekly block history from July 2026 (earlier weeks only where archived police releases have been backfilled), security measures per block as unverified, self-reported counts, CSV export, the versioned disorder index, and a corrections feed licensees must apply. It is available to insurers, brokers, property owners and researchers. Licensed use is limited to commercial-property underwriting, loss prevention, site selection and research; residential tenant screening, personal-lines rating, and employment or credit decisions are prohibited.
